Welcome

Thank you for visiting Bognor Regis Camera Club’s website. We are glad to see you and show you around.

Bognor Regis Camera Club has been established since 1947 and brings together people with a common interest in photography. We are an active and friendly group and we all hope you will find something to suit your requirements with us. No special skills or cameras are required to join in – just an interest in photography will be fine 🙂

Come and visit or join us

Our members, of broad age range and ability, work mainly digitally and are always willing to give help and guidance. They enjoy a varied and stimulating programme of guest speakers, internal and external competitions, practical and creative sessions and a valuable exchange of ideas. There is also a programme of Social Events throughout the whole year.

We meet every Tuesday evening in St Mary’s Hall, Felpham and the meetings season runs from September to May. However, we still meet up for walks and hold some of our workshops during the summer months.

The meetings consist of a mix of speakers, competitions and members evenings when we share information, skills, or adventures. Workshops are run throughout the year by members themselves sharing their knowledge – some in the small hall, some out on location and some via Zoom.

We have a Facebook presence:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/175472179169233/

Flickr is another platform we enjoy, for a monthly competition, just sharing and, we also have a group tackling the challenge of taking a picture a week for a year!!

Quite a lot of information for you to take in 🙂  Please don’t hesitate to contact our Membership Secretary (See the Committee page for contact details) with any queries.  You are welcome to come along free of charge to a meeting and see if it is the sort of thing you are looking for and we will be delighted to welcome you. See our Calendar for meeting dates.

2021-2022 Prizewinners

BRCC 2021-2022 Season Prize Winners

On the 17 May we held our ‘End of Season Prizegiving and Party’. The above image shows the award winners for top position in the many competitions run by the club. During the interval in procedings the outgoing Social Secretary, Carolyn, and several helpers provided snacks and drinks. This interval was followed by a short, but challenging, quiz provided by the outgoing Chairman, Bill Brooks.

But, despite this being the end-of-sesaon event there are many outings, social meetings and workshops over the summer. Watch the calendar on this site and Snapshots, our weekly magazine emailed to members on Mondays.

COVID-19

Despite the effects of Covid-19 preventing many of our face-to-face activities from March 2020 through to July 2021 the club has delivered a pretty full programme of events. We were not able to plan as far forward as normal but the calendar was certainly full of interesting workshops, talks, competitions and ad hoc activities.

Indeed we were able to deliver more workshops than in a normal year and host unusual speakers from far afield; a trip to Namibia for anyone?

2022 – 2023 programme

The programme for the coming year is now fully organised. As soon as all the detaiils have been rechecked the full programme will be uploaded to this website.

You can come and talk to us at our exhibitions over the summer.

On July 9 we will be at the Felpham Fete in Vicarage Gardens.

On June 18 we will be at the Fair in Hotham Park, Bognor Regis.

From 1 to 6 August we will be at the Regis School of Music in Sudley Road, Bognor Regis from 10am to 4pm daily for our annual exhibition. Come and meet us at any of these events!

Especially see our workshops page, the list of talented and entertaining speakers in our programme for the coming period and watch out for notices of additional events as they arise.

If you like the idea of a friendly club with photography as its common interest or wish to join a club to progress your interest in photography then Bognor Regis Camera Club can certainly meet your needs.

Use the Contact Us form or just come to one of our meetings or workshops.
