Club Meeting Tuesday 16 September 2025
On the 16th of September we had talks from four of our members about different aspects of photography,
First we had David Hastings, who was talking about a trip that he took to the Farne Islands off the coast of Northumberland. He shared with us some of the many photos he took of the wide variety of birds who can be found there and encouraged those of us who are interested in this type of photography to take this very special trip.
Next, so as to encourage more members to enter prints into the print competitions, Susan Fletcher took us through the process of having your exquisite print fully mounted and ready for display. Although you need one or two bits of equipment, they are not expensive, and the skill level required to complete the mounting is well within members reach. A most encouraging talk
After coffee break Martin Tomes took us deep into the intricacies of focus stacking. This technique is useful when you cannot get all the contents of your picture into one, in-focus, image. This is applicable for landscapes that have items which are very close to the camera, as well as the far distance right down to the microscale where the object you are taking is of the size of a few millimetres or less.
Finally, Dale took us on a trip through the processes he used to produce his very distinctive multi layered shots. He made it seem quite easy but we’ll wait to see the result Produced by Other Members efforts, Produced by Other Members efforts, Produced by Other Members efforts, of other members’ efforts.
Members: Please see the members’ area for some of the presentations.
