"The Evesdropper"

Bognor Regis Camera Club’s Photography Exhibition this year takes place from Mon 30th July to Sat 4th August – daily from 10am to 4pm at the Recital Hall, Sudley Road, Bognor Regis PO21 1ER.

The exhibition will be officially opened on the evening of Mon 30th July by the club President Mr Rob de Ruiter. Admission to the Exhibition is free and everyone is welcome to come and view an interesting and varied range of photography on display.

This year there is a wide range of photography on show both as prints and projected digital images many of which reflect continuing improvements in camera equipment, post processing software, and printing techniques. In excess of 200 prints will be on display in addition to a continuous slideshow of members digital images all representing work produced by more than 50 club members over the past year.

We will also be airing our 2018/19 programme for the first time to allow those who might consider joining a chance to view what’s on offer throughout our new season.

BRCC members will be on hand throughout the week to answer questions about the club and to chat about photography in general. A discount off the regular annual membership fee is offered to anyone joining the club for the first time at the exhibition or at a free three hour workshop on Saturday morning 25th August from 09:30 which will be offered to prospective new members.

The workshop will take place at the St Mary’s Centre in Felpham (behind the church), where club meetings are held. The free workshop tickets will be given away at the exhibition to all prospective new members.

With the growing interest and popularity in digital photography using cameras, mobile phones, iPads etc, every year the Exhibition attracts many prospective new members. The free “introductory” workshop is tailored to give an insight into how the club works, what it does, and how it can help you to improve your photography and most importantly get more enjoyment out of the hobby. Experienced club members will be on hand to answer any questions and iron out any photographic problems or difficulties those attending might be having.

Since Bognor Regis Camera Club’s formation in 1947 a great deal has changed in terms of how we produce our images and what is now possible. New developments across the board particularly over the last few years has thrown up a real need for both theory and practical workshops concentrating on specific areas of photography such as Landscape, wildlife, Travel and Macro amongst others.

These workshops are being run throughout the year by experienced club members with a view to sharing knowledge and expertise so all can improve and maximise their enjoyment. Many of the benefits obtained by club members from the workshops are visible this year in the improved quality of the work on show at the exhibition.

At this years' Exhibition we will also be launching our new plans for the coming season which include a complete change to our competitions which will make for a more varied and exciting completition season.

Today, what is possible photographically, is only limited by our own imaginations.
